This trip to Mexico in 2018 was really special. I

This trip to Mexico in 2018 was really special. I hadn’t been back since 2011 so it was long overdue. I stayed in the house that my grandparents built with @edward.jimenez1 and some of our aunts and one of them even dragged us along for an impromptu tour/ history lesson of the town and surrounding area. Walking through the dirt roads and corn stocks really made me feel connected to my roots in a way I can’t explain. It made me think, this is where my grandparents worked and where my dad’s side of the family walked around growing up. Felt like I had gone back in time.

The plan was simple. @edward.jimenez1 and I were going to follow our aunts into the bush to try and find a waterfall near our grandparents house and explore. This simple plan ended in us walking around in circles for an hour and half and heading back home with no waterfall haha. But, we did catch an incredible sunset. Worth it!
